Bury
your body in ice
We’ve seen this scene probably a dozen times in the movies
already: a hero gets injured from a shootout, and instead of going to the
doctor, he or she just straight-up immersed their bodies in iced water.
Kinda extreme, isn’t it? Well, you don’t need to injure
yourself seriously just so you can try it out, but there is wisdom behind it:
ice reduces swelling of the muscles, which is why some people choose to jump
immediately inside an ice bath (preferably whilst inside a tub) so they can
start the healing process of their bodies immediately.
Of course, you don’t have to be completely naked when doing
it; you can actually jump inside an ice bath with your workout clothes, if you
prefer. But if you still can’t stand the idea of doing so, then you can just
immerse any of your extremities in ice, like your feet, for instance.
3.
“Balming”
your body
Of course, how will these tips above help you maintain your
beauty if you’re not even “soothed” by them? Well, applying balms on your body
can surely can, and it is with good reason, too. How so? Well, let’s say that training or running for a
marathon will cause your body to be so sore that you can hardly move any of
your muscles. Well, if you have an all-purpose beauty balm on your dresser,
then this should prove to be very helpful for your purpose; in particular,
balms are the modern-day counterpart to what our grannies used as liniments
back then—except that you don’t have to endure the pungent smell whilst
applying it to your body!
